Experience

I have over 16 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have experience working with adults, teenagers, and children in a variety of settings. I have worked extensively with children, teenagers, and their parents in the school setting both as a teacher and as a school social worker. I have several years of experience volunteering for a county suicide hotline and rape crisis team. I have worked to support families dealing with abuse and neglect in getting help so they could safely stay together. I have worked with pregnant and parenting teens and teenagers and children with Asperger's Syndrome in the school setting. I also have a year of experience providing Intensive Family Treatment in an internship through social services.

Through my various roles, I have supported adults, teenagers, and children with a multitude of issues including: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, sexual abuse, relationship issues, divorce, grief and loss, school problems, parenting issues, eating issues, building confidence, loneliness, bullying, friendship skills, dealing with life changes, and more.  My areas of specialty are complex trauma (which most people have and don't know much about, and it underlies many of the struggles just mentioned) and its impact in one's life now.  I also specialize in the preparation and integration with psychedelics for harm reduction.

In recent years, I have had experiences working with psychedelics and the preparation and integration of those experiences for healing and growth. This is a new area of mental health support that is gaining excitement as research is showing promising results for treating PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety.  I do not sit with people while they take psychedelics, but will help adults get the most out of their experiences through the preparation and then the integration of those experiences.

Education

I received my Master's in Social Work in 1999 from the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver.  I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Education from Seton Hill University in 1984.  I have continued studying complex trauma, integration and preparation of psychedelics, and body centered treatment modalities for complex trauma and the other issues listed above.

Doing my own intensive therapy work for personal growth and healing has given me a depth of understanding of the therapeutic process from the inside out.  I am prepared to support and guide you as you follow your journey to healing and well-being.
