When Life Hurts,

Reach Out,

I Can Help!

Questions that I always had when choosing a therapist were about trust.  Can I share what I need to share with this therapist?  Will she understand me?  Will she judge me?  How do I know if this will be a place that I can get help?  These are all valid questions and concerns when you are seeking a therapist to work with you on some of your deepest issues.  I have been there and had these questions myself.  I believe that we are all humans just trying to get by and live a comfortable and maybe outstanding life.  We are all doing the best we can with what we have been given.

My role is not to judge, but to work with you to understand how you work.  We will collaborate together to create a safe environment for you to explore the many parts of you that impact how you live and how you feel in life.  In our work together, we want to remain curious about what comes up for you and learn to stay present with it, whether it is easy or difficult.  We want to quiet the critical voice inside and instead learn how to see oneself with compassion and understanding.  This is what I do well.  I can guide you as you seek to understand yourself with an open, curious, and compassionate stance.

Not only do we want to understand our internal workings, but also how our families of origin, our diverse cultures, and our communities have shaped our beliefs, behaviors, and our perceptions about ourselves.  We can work to understand how we have been influenced by those around us with that same curious view.  The goal is to reconnect to our authentic self beneath all of the outer influences that may have stifled some of our creativity and joy as we sought to survive and get by in sometimes tough and judgmental environments.

I use a variety of body centered approaches including EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and more to support you in reconnecting to your core self.  I believe that we all have an authentic core part inside of us that knows what we need to heal.  I will support you in accessing that part so it can guide you in your healing path. You are in control, and we will build up your safety tools so that you feel comfortable to look at and handle any hard things that may come up.  This is your therapy, so you will guide how fast and how deep we go.  I trust your instincts to guide you where you need to go.  Contact me to begin your healing journey.
